UVA_RotundaThere’s a new battle brewing over what happened at the University of Virginia last summer, with a Washington-based non-profit attacking an accrediting agency that put UVA’s board of visitors on warning.  Sandy Hausman has that story.

Getting the message out is important and Anne Neal is correct in her diligence on the matter of the intrusion of the “federally approved” accrediting agency into the affairs of UVA’s governance. But public radio is always going to orchestrate things; so the snippet posted here ends with a UVA faculty guy blowing off the the whole matter of interference with the comment that “nobody pays attention to them [acta.org] anyway.” If you aren’t listening carefully you might think that he’s referring to the Board of Visitors, and maybe…. he is.
